Jangoo Dalal to head Avaya GlobalConnect`s India operations
BANGALORE: Avaya, a provider of business communications systems, software and services, announced on Monday the appointment of Jangoo Dalal as its new managing director for India.
He would responsible for overseeing all its business operations and driving growth for the company in this market, said a press release.
Based in Mumbai, Dalal would report to company President for Asia Pacific, John DiLullo. In this new role, Dalal is tasked with driving Avaya`s overall business strategy in India and strengthening its position in its core areas of Unified Communications, including its leadership in the Contact Center space in India.
"India is a critical market for Avaya. Jangoo`s experience in building high-performance teams, his extensive knowledge of the industry, and his proven ability to drive growth made him the perfect candidate to expand Avaya`s presence in the region. I am confident his appointment will be applauded by our customers, partners and employees alike," said DiLullo.
Prior to joining Avaya, Dalal served as CEO and managing director for D-Link India Limited where he led a force of over 1,000 sales, service, manufacturing and engineering employees.
Before joining D-Link, Jangoo enjoyed more than 10 successful years of increasingly challenging roles at Cisco Systems, ultimately culminating in the position of President, India and South Asia Region, the release added.
This is a newly created role for Avaya. Avaya has so far relied upon its majority-owned subsidiary, Avaya Global Connect Limited (AGCL), as its sole route-to-market in India.
In addition to nourishing and ensuring the successful operations of AGCL, in this newly created role Dalal would also be chartered with forging Avaya`s entry into existing and emerging India markets and channels.
Dalal said, "I am excited about this new role and look forward to building a strong team which will take Avaya to the next level. With business models and practices going through radical changes that increasingly rely on ubiquitous communication and distributed communication technologies, Avaya is well-poised to partner with Indian businesses as they pursue aggressive global growth strategies."
